CRA expansion

Premier Properties' Tracie Craig backed the citywide expansion, saying the program has enabled millions in housing and redevelopment investment and that today's construction and financing costs make abatements essential for feasibility.

Casto Realty Group's Justin Bird said all of the company's current projects use tax abatements and that a proposed Class A multifamily community in Springfield would require a CRA abatement to proceed.

MidOhio Development's Shawn Murphy cited rising construction costs and property tax assessments on the company's Springfield apartments, saying the CRA expansion would improve Springfield's competitiveness for future multifamily investment.
